As part of a grand scheme by the government to extend basic telephone voice and data connectivity to every part of the country, the first rural telephony project to help achieve that has been launched at Atwereboana, New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region.

Huawei has launched the sixth edition of Seeds for the Future in Ghana Accra. In partnership with the ministry of communication, the ministry of education, UNESCO, National Council of Tertiary Education and three Universities, Ghana Sky Seeds for the Future will give 50 STEM university students the opportunity to expand their scope in ICT. It is also advocating more female participation in ICT.

CEO of Vodafone Ghana Patricia Obo-Nai has urged engineering students of Ashesi University to also seek practical experiences whilst in school.
